Wine-growing region Saale-Unstrut
We endeavour to present our guests in our ‘Friedrich’ a comprehensive cross-section of the wines produced in the region. Our region is the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region: small but beautiful, very young in modern times, yet with a very long history - that is the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region.
2022 Weißburgunder GG Steinmeister HEY
A Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) at its finest! Straightforward and clear with juice and fruit, flavourful and slender.
Gutedel
The white Chasselas (german Gutedel) grape variety is certainly very, very old and is definitely one of the oldest of all grape varieties. The German capital of Chasselas is located in the Markgräferland region (between Freiburg i. Br. and the border with Switzerland).
Silvaner
The Silvaner grape variety is one of the oldest grape varieties in Europe. It probably originates from Austria. It has been native to Germany since the 17th century. It is a natural cross between Traminer and Austrian white.
Riesling
Riesling is a white grape variety that is generally a flagship of German viticulture. Germany is almost certainly the country of origin. Even today, almost half of the world's total acreage is located in Germany. The grape variety has been cultivated in Germany for at least 600 years (first mentioned in writing in Worms in 1402 1435*).
Morio Muscat
The white grape variety Morio Muscat was bred by Peter Morio in 1928. Morio, who worked at the Geilweilerhof Institute for Grapevine Breeding, claimed that Silvaner and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) were the parents of the cross. However, this did not stand up to DNA analyses carried out in 2012.
2022 Morio Muscat Spätlese Grober Feetz
A white wine with a vibrant yellow colour and an intense, floral and spicy bouquet. The fine muscat flavour plays around the fruity nature of the wine and refines the pleasantly spicy finish. A very harmonious and balanced white wine with a very well-integrated residual sweetness.
2022 Scheurebe Muschelkalk Winery Grober Feetz
German Quality Wine, Late vintage, from Zscheiplitzer Himmelreich.
2022 Dorpino Winery Frölich Hake
The Dorpino Rosé, a carefully crafted cuvée of Dornfelder and Portugieser, surprises with a bouquet of sour cherries and enticing strawberry flavours.
2022 Silvaner Winery Frölich Hake
This medium-dry Silvaner wine has a delicate fruity sweetness and racy flavours of green apples and pears.
2022 Silvaner Winery Frölich Hake
This dry Silvaner presents a delicate interplay of ripe fruit, tangy acidity and a pleasant mellowness, which is supported by a balanced sweetness-acidity structure. The wine is accompanied by subtle honey notes.
2022 Blauer Zweigelt Barrique Winery Winzervereinigung
With its fruity, full-bodied and smooth bouquet, this Blauer Zweigelt Barrique is a full-bodied red wine. With its wonderfully dark red-violet colour, it not only looks beautiful in the glass, but also goes well with hearty dishes thanks to its light woody note.
2023 Portugieser Weißherbst Winery Winzervereinigung
Its salmon pink colour in the glass, a harmonious residual sweetness and aromas of strawberry compote make the Portugieser Weißherbst perfect for mild evenings and beyond.
2023 Bacchus Winery Winzervereinigung
An interesting aroma of white currant, dandelion and Moroccan mint give this dry Bacchus an intense aroma and flavour.
2022 Johanniter Spätlese Winery Wartenberg
This special wine, made from the fungus resistant Johanniter grape variety, is an impressive representative of its type. Its strong, walnut-maripan-like flavour is accompanied by a fruity, tart aroma of dried apricots, mandarin peel and Williams pear.
2023 Bacchus Winery Winzervereinigung
This Bacchus brings a refreshing fruitiness to the glass, with an unusual flavour of cassis and ice candy, accompanied by a spicy freshness and gentle acidity. This makes this medium sweet Bacchus a real pleasure.
2023 Bacchus Winery Pawis
This Bacchus impresses with its freshness and fruitiness. The winemaker himself likes to call it the Sauvignon Blanc of the north.
Bacchus
This white grape variety Bacchus was not named after the Roman god of wine Bacchus for nothing. Bacchus is a favourite wine. The cross between Silvaner and Riesling and Müller Thurgau was bred in 1933 by Peter Morio and Bernhard Husfeld at the Geilweilerhof Institute for Vine Breeding.
