2023 Grauburgunder Edelacker GG Winery Pawis

The Grosse Gewächse wines show their origin from the estate's best vineyards. 

This Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) Grosses Gewächs from the Freyburger Edelacker impresses with its versatile flavours of acacia honey, brioche, quince and butter pear. A fine vanilla note rounds it off perfectly.

The winegrower himself describes the site as follows: ‘The former vine nursery on the Hühnerjagd is home to our VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS Pinot Gris. Even in dry years, the vines draw plenty of energy from the mighty loamy soil at the eastern end of the Schweigenberg for the powerful fruity flavours of this full-bodied Burgundy. The 0.2 hectare site warms up well thanks to the good protection from the west wind and produces ripe wines with harmonious acidity.’
