Once again, a warm welcome to our small restaurant in the heart of Naumburg and the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region! Our menu offers a carefully selected range of specialities and dishes that are perfectly paired with the wines of our region. Treat yourself to the flavours and warm hospitality – we look forward to your visit!
For us, love doesn't just go through the stomach. We prepare the food with love and, at the end, we clear the table with love, or at least with a smile. One small downside: unfortunately, we cannot certifiably cook vegan food. However, vegetarian dishes are always available!
The wines we serve are produced exclusively by local winemakers, very often using traditional methods. No vineyard is more than 15 kilometres away. Our food menu is designed to complement the wine (but yes, we also serve beer). We try to source as many ingredients as possible from the region. We make only one exception: anything that has to come from Italy comes from Italy. Our olive oil is produced in a small cooperative in South Tyrol near Merano, as is our balsamic vinegar. The espresso beans from Africa are roasted in Piedmont near Turin. Readers can imagine where our Parmesan cheese is produced.
Otherwise: Regional products are fresher, more aromatic and contain more vitamins and nutrients than products with long supply chains. That makes sense. Shorter transport routes reduce energy consumption for cooling and storage, as well as packaging waste. Regionality goes hand in hand with seasonality. Those who eat regionally automatically eat in tune with the seasons and discover the natural diversity of local products.
