Auxerrois

Auxerrois

Auxerrois belongs to the Burgundy family and is a natural cross between Pinot and Pinot Blanc.

The name probably comes from the French county of Auxerre, from whose neighbourhood it originates. The spread of the grape variety is linked to the expulsion of the Huguenots. The expelled winegrowers took the vine with them and planted it in their new homes. Today it can be found on the Moselle and in Alsace. In Germany, it is often grown on the Upper Moselle, in the Southern Palatinate and in the Kraichgau and Markgräflerland regions of Baden. This white wine can now also be found in the local portfolio on the Saale and Unstrut rivers.

2025 Spätburgunder Rosé Weingut Frölich Hake

Delicate, crisp and characterised by the Muschelkalk: this Pinot Noir Rosé epitomises elegance and structure. Aromas of raspberry and redcurrant are complemented by a fresh hint of lime. The subtle minerality lends the wine a sleek, stylish character and creates a pleasant tension on the palate. It is supple yet precise, with a balance of fruit and cool freshness that makes it particularly versatile.
