2023 Riesling Bergstern Winery Klaus Böhme
If we understand correctly, the ‘Bergstern’ sits at the very top of the in-house quality pyramid at the Klaus Böhme winery in Kirchscheidungen. The vines are rooted in the Rappental valley in Dorndorf.
In the 2025 tasting by Falstaff magazine, this Riesling scored 95 out of 100 points. Let's hear what Ulrich Sautter, the well-known and highly experienced wine connoisseur, had to say about this wine at the tasting on 14 November 2025: Yellow apple opens the bouquet, followed by apricot, lime blossom, Amalfi lemon, pink pomelo and grapefruit, and fresh orange zest. Juicy fruit, laced with fine spice, well-integrated ripe acidity to fullness and a smooth finish, balanced and dense, culinarily versatile." Cheers!
