2023 Spätburgunder Barrique Winery Pawis
The wine is characterised by strong fruity aromas of fully ripe cherries. The long ageing period in small oak barrels provides subtle toasted and vanilla flavours and an excellent structure and length.
This Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) was recently awarded 92 points (out of 100) at the Falstaff Pinot Noir Trophy. Ulrich Sauter, editor-in-chief of Falstaff, may be quoted here: ‘Dark in colour. The intense aroma shows flavours of black cherry and sour cherry, wild plums, forest honey and a little cinnamon (from the wood). A very harmonious wine on the palate, very round and homogeneous, with fine-grained, almost silky tannins, full fruit, ripe acidity and a long, fruit-driven finish.’
