Cabernet blanc
This is a fairly new grape variety among those cultivated in Germany, having only been bred in 1991.
Because this white variety with the familiar and traditional-sounding name is still young, it has not yet become a synonym. If it says Cabernet Blanc on the label, it can only be Cabernet Blanc in the bottle.
As already mentioned, the variety bred by the Swiss vineyard owner and private breeder Valentin Blattner has only existed since 1991. It is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and an unknown variety. Some sources say that Regent is the second parent. In any case, it is not simply a color mutation of the widely known red Cabernet.
Like Cabernet Cortis, this variety is a so-called fungus-resistant vine.
